The University Programme Section at CLA provides the following Chinese language courses to CUHK international students:

IASP students:
Exchange students (term or year) are admitted by CUHK’s Office of Academic Links (OAL). Under IASP, students may be entitled to take 1 – 2 Putonghua or Cantonese course(s) without the need to pay extra tuition fees (subject to OAL’s approval) and earn credits once the course(s) is/are registered on CUSIS. Earned credits can be transferred to one’s home institution, if approved.
International Undergraduates:
International students under the 4-year curriculum are admitted by CUHK’s Office of Admission and Financial Aid (OAFA). Students may be required to take Putonghua or Cantonese courses to fulfil their Chinese Language Requirements (decision made by the Registrar’s Office).
All students are welcome to complete the course registration procedures at the University Programme Section General Office (G05, Fong Shu Chuen Building, CUHK) in person.
